Glover Art Exhibition – totally inspiring!

I was lucky enough to visit the Glover Art Exhibition on the weekend with my daughter. We both love art and fortunately it was only a 20 minute drive to the beautiful village of Evandale in Northern Tasmania where the exhibition is held.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Glover Prize, it is Australia’s most prestigious landscape art prize. John Glover was a contemporary of Turner and Constable and is known as ‘the father of Australian landscape painting’.

“The Glover defines landscape painting in its broadset sense. The aim is to stimulate conversations about the meaning and possibilities expressed in the words landscape, painting and Tasmania. The Glover is open to artists from anywhere in the world. ”

This artwork was pretty amazing. It was the “Hangers Choice” and I can see why. So much detail and I love the amazing cliffs. It’s called “The End of the World is beautiful” by David Disher who is from Victoria. It features three girls from Tassie so obviously I’m a fan!

All the artwork was incredible. Here are three more of my favourites.

If you’d like to see the other entries and find out more about the Glover Art Exhibition and Art Prize, you can visit their website here.

The other great thing about visiting the exhibition is that Evandale is such a historic, picturesque village with stunning architecture and lovely little antique shops, it’s a work of art in its own right!
