Hello, I'm Kay.
I'm an artist living and painting on Tasmania's beautiful east coast
My paintings are filled with many of the things I love - women, flowers, birds, horses, beautiful fabrics, the sea and, increasingly, little fragments of story hidden within the paint.
I've always been drawn to beauty, but I'm even more interested in what lies beneath it - the experiences we carry, the things that shape us, and the strength it sometimes takes simply to keep blooming.
My paintings are my way of telling those stories.

My paintings are my way of telling those stories.
Look a little closer.
I love paintings that reward a second look.
Beneath the colour and beauty you'll often find tiny details woven into my work – birds, butterflies, flowers, fragments of pattern, old letters and unexpected little creatures.
Some are symbolic. Some hold memories. And occasionally they're there simply because they made me smile.
I like the idea that someone can live with one of my paintings for years and still discover something they hadn't noticed before.
Why I paint.
I don't paint perfect women or perfect lives.
The women who find their way onto my canvasses have lived. They carry memories, vulnerability, courage, joy and strength. Sometimes they are looking towards something; sometimes they are simply still.
Flowers appear again and again because I love what they represent – growth, fragility, beauty and the extraordinary determination to bloom.
And perhaps that's what I hope my paintings ultimately hold: a reminder that our stories don't diminish our beauty. They become part of it.
