The woman in this piece is wrapped in a cloak made from layers of collage papers, each one holding little handwritten fragments. These represent the things she carried — the memories, experiences, and quiet truths that have shaped her, even when they aren’t visible to the world.
This painting draws on my own journey too — from a difficult childhood to a life rebuilt through creativity, colour, and healing.
“The Things She Carried” is about resilience and the beauty that can grow from the stories we hold inside. I hope that when you look at her, you see not only her story… but maybe a little of your own reflected back.
Unframed. Requires framing to hang.
