Scent and Stillness is an original oil painting from my ongoing still life series exploring perfume bottles and flowers. I’m drawn to these objects for their quiet sense of luxury and the memories they carry — fragrance has a way of lingering long after the moment has passed.
The ornate perfume bottle is paired with vibrant poppies, their softness and warmth contrasting with the delicate structure and shimmer of glass and metal. Set against a moody, layered background, the composition invites the viewer to slow down and sit with a sense of calm, intimacy, and timeless beauty.
